Who we are
Open Door Church cares about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. We are a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and desire to see that freedom transform the lives of those in our community and around the world. We can best sum up our mission as a church in these three words: AWAKEN | EQUIP | SEND. We believe we're called to AWAKEN people from spiritual slumber to life in Jesus, EQUIP those believers to effectively love and serve Jesus, and to SEND disciples to transform the world.
Where we come from
Open Door Church was re-launched from the rich heritage of Pagosa First Assembly of God in 2016. Our core beliefs have remained true to that of our former name, but our vision carried with it a new name for a new season. Originally established in the early 60's on a firm foundation of prayer and faith for revival, Open Door Church has continued to pursue God's desire to see his Kingdom come to Pagosa Springs. We're still an Assemblies of God fellowship and work closely with the Rocky Mountain Ministry Network.
Where we're headed
What's the bottom line? More than ever, Open Door Church is committed to fostering a family who prioritize the Presence of the Lord. We believe that our worship doesn't sound good enough, our sermons aren't fresh enough, and our agenda's aren't organized well enough to see people's lives changed. We do believe, however, that one genuine encounter with the Holy Spirit is more than able to eternally change one's life. Prayer is pivotal to all that transpires at Open Door Church. It's through this ongoing connection we have with the Father that we desire to see lifestyle's of consistency established. We believe it's possible to live in an ever increasing degree of encounter.
